The Fresh Connection is an advanced online business simulation that challenges participants to work together as a team to demonstrate and improve their knowledge of the Value Chain, It creates greater alignment and a deeper understanding of the world’s biggest and best businesses;-

The South African 2017 edition of the Global Challenge will start with 3 x remote rounds. Each remote round is one round of the TFC simulation; each round will challenge you and your team to improve the performance of your supply chain. The remote rounds provide an opportunity for you to experience the simulation and test a range of scenarios in a risk free environment, thus preparing you for The Global Challenge.
The remote rounds lead directly into The Global Challenge….. The Global Challenge will see you participate against some of the finest Supply Chain practitioners from across the globe… The challenge requires you to work within your team to make the best strategic and tactical choices for the value chain in order to save the fictitious company The Fresh Connection from financial ruin.
What you will achieve from participating in the Fresh Connection Global Challenge:
- The opportunity to participate against global participants which enables you to benchmark your knowledge and skills of your team against international participants.
- Experience the impact of value chain management on business performance in a competitive simulation environment. See the effects of creating alignment and breaking down functional silos
- The value of working together and team collaboration in the value team
A team comprises of 4 participants, which represent key supply chain roles – purchasing, sales, operations and supply chain.
The format of the challenge requires individuals with no more than 2 participants to be from the same company. This format provides excellent opportunities for learning, growth and exposure to experience other supply chain management strategies and thinking.
The top 3 teams of the remote rounds will playoff on the 4th June 2017 at the SAPICS Annual Conference for the title of the South African Fresh Connection team of the year.
If your team has what it takes to be the best performing team and win the global Challenge you could find yourself jet-setting of to participate in the Global Final which will take place 28th September 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Fresh connection rounds are open 24/7 and you may contribute your input anytime during the round dates.
A round opens on a Monday, 12 noon (CEST) and closes 12 days later on Friday 5 pm (CEST). Your TFC screen has a timer, that informs you how much time of the round is still remaining, before it closes. At the turn of each round The Fresh Connection will calculate the team’s results whilst adding new dynamics and challenges for you to tackle during the next round.
The costs below are per person inclusive of all above competition dates. An organisation can register as many players as they like, however only 2 persons per organisation can play on a team.
