If so, we want you, or your nominations, for the 2012 Supply Chain Education Excellence Awards.

We all know that there is a massive skills shortage in our country. Operations Management is a profession which requires an enormous amount of skills development. SAPICS strives to develop an expanded sense of responsibility for the education needs of our profession and by hosting the Supply Chain Education Excellence Awards each year we hope to offer recognition for the individuals and organisations sharing our passion and commitment in educating this profession.

By recognizing those who have achieved in 2011 we create role models for our colleagues for the future. We welcome your nominations.

This prestigious event, now in its 6th Year, will be held on the 19th April 2012 at The Venue, Melrose Arch, where Supply Chain Education Excellence will be recognised in style.

Nominations are sought in a number of categories, and will be adjudicated based on performance, sustainability, success and innovation.

Award Categories (All nominations will be assessed by an independent panel of judges)

Corporate Supply Chain Education Programme of the year

This award will be presented in recognition of an exceptional project or programme that has contributed significantly to skills development in the Supply Chain Logistics and Operations Management profession, either through educating individuals or an education programme / initiative which was conducted within an organisation.

Student of the Year

To be awarded to a student that has demonstrated superior achievement in a course or programme within the Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations Management field study.

Motivations are also welcomed for the following categories:

SAPICS Authorised Education Provider of the year Award

This award will be presented to the SAPICS Authorised Education Provider that has shown commitment, significant contribution and continual development during 2011.

SAPICS Instructor of the Year

An award that is presented to an instructor who, by diligently supporting his/her students in a manner that extends beyond the call of duty, has continuously produced outstanding results, shows true commitment to his / her students and has true enthusiasm for Supply Chain Education.

Nomination Criteria

Corporate Supply Chain Education Programme of the year:

  • Innovation of the education intervention
  • Alignment to address the needs of the National Skills Development Strategy
  • The number of students who gained employment / improved their careers after completion of the education intervention or
  • Overall improvement in Supply Chain/Operations environment that resulted in measurable results and benefit to the organisation.
  • Description of the programme, including the highlighting of unique features and components
  • Please note that a Testimonial to be received by individual or organisation who has benefited from the programme is required.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR

  • True commitment in their field of study (course or programme) through attendance
  • Perseverance and dedication to achieve
  • Proven results as a top achiever, by achieving highest results in an exam or assessment
  • Testimonial required by a lecturer or colleague.

SAPICS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR

  • Number of students educated during the year
  • Overall pass rate of students
  • The instructor disseminates information soundly and effectively and is knowledgeable in the subject field
  • Continual drive to further develop themselves within the Body of knowledge
  • Evidence that the instructor continually strives for quality course delivery
  • Ability to aspire students to high levels of accomplishment
  • The instructors commitment goes beyond the call of duty
  • Testimonial required from student or organisation where the lecturer has presented training. This category is subject to verification by SAPICS of students educated and their achievements.

SAPICS AEP Award

  • Number of courses run during the year
  • Number of students educated during the year
  • Overall pass rate of students
  • Overall compliance of administrative functions & processes
  • Overall enthusiasm & commitment towards SAPICS and the Body of Knowledge
  • This category is not open to submissions, the successful respondent will be chosen by SAPICS based on their fulfilment of the criteria however testimonials from students and employees will be welcomed.

The APICS CPIM and CSCP high achievers in 2011 will also be recognised
