Karl Thorington

Supply Chain Director, McCain Foods SA, South Africa

This case study aims to provide the attendees with a view of how an outsourcing arrangement that differs from traditional 3PL engagements creates success. McCain Foods SA engaged with Resolve to provide Transport Managed Services in respect of requirements for improved transport planning and execution management. This engagement is governed by a gain-share commercial contract, whereby costs and risks are shared fairly amongst the two partners. The purpose of the engagement is to improve fulfilment of orders to customers whilst reducing cost and inefficiency in the supply chain. This engagement and solution has increased in scope, ensuring an effective integration of customer orders, inventory, transport, warehousing and manufacturing.
