|Webinar with Ken Titmuss - Intro to the Demand Driven Adaptive Enterprise Model
Up to this point you may have attended a few introductory webinars on DDMRP and learned how to set up your buffers and replenish the system based on the Net Flow equation. This is just a very small part of the ultimate Demand Driven Adaptive Enterprise (DDAE) Model that you need to put in place in your organisation to become truly demand driven.
During this webinar we will look at expanding your Demand Driven Operating Model (DDOM) to include, not only stock buffers, but, if your manufacturing environment is relatively complex, time and capacity buffers as well as finite scheduling of your constraints or control points. We will look at the variance analysis feedback from the DDOM to see how reliable, stable and fast it is to determine if it can be continuously improved. (continuously or just improved?)
The DDOM is driven by the Model Configurations and Master Settings from the tactical Demand Driven Sales and Operations (DDS&OP) process, which in turn is driven by the business plan parameters from the strategic Adaptive S&OP process.
In traditional ERP planning information is communicated in a uni-directional way: Strategy to Tactics and on to Operations. In a DDAE model communication is bi-directional, not only from Strategy down to Operations, but in the reverse direction as well, Operations to Strategy. This is a huge improvement on the traditional way of planning. Strategy is now driven by market driven innovation, whereas Operations are driven by actual customer demand.
We conclude the webinar with some discussion around a 5-stage maturity model for a DDAE model. Stage one, is where a company is focused on cost-based operational efficiency, where cost reduction and responsiveness are often in conflict, to stage 5, where we have a mature DDAE model that is sensing, adapting and innovating across the supply chain, with customers and suppliers, for continual ROI improvement.
