SAPICS President (Chair)


Keabetswe Mpane affectionately known as “KEA” has in-depth experience in the supply chain and has served on various boards. She is a passionate supply chain professional championing various initiative that aims to professionalise and seek proficiency of the supply chain profession. The biggest contribution will be in achieving designations within the supply chain across sectors and bringing pride to the trade. She strives to bring transformation to the most challenged industry which can contribute greatly to the economic revitalisation and industrialisation of our country. Her stead leadership saw her be awarded as a finalist for Africa’s most influential woman in business and government in 2014 amongst other accolades. Having been a director for 5 years for SAPICS, she believes she has gained enough experience to drive the association through its new era of renewal and transformation.

As a director of CLX, Richard has been involved with SAPICS throughout his professional career. He has participated as a SAPICS Authorised Education Partner as well as an active member of the SAPICS Executive Committee. He continues to work in a SAPICS Board and Exco chairman capacity to advance the interest and transformation of SAPICS to become a recognised professional body serving the African continent.  Utilising his unique professional skill set and given the strategic undertakings that SAPICS has engaged in, Richard believes he can continue to add value in shaping the final service offering that will define SAPICS as the premier supply chain association on the continent. He has an extensive network of supply chain customers, partners and business associates that he can continue to call on to participate in the collaborative building efforts that will need to be fostered throughout the term one would serve on the board of directors.

Kamogelo Mampane (MBA, FCIPS) is the Chief Executive of TK Global Experts. His company offers Supply Chain Advisory services to companies, board members and Executive Committees. They also assist companies to implement leading practice supply chain principles, Training and IT Solutions to optimise their Procurement and Supply Chain process by working with OEM‘s to increase transparency and effectiveness in the value chain.  He implemented Supply Chain leading practices in the mining industry, financial services, utilities, operations and logistics. He is a thought leader in Strategic Procurement, Supplier and Enterprise Development, Spend Transformation / Diversity and assists companies to leverage on Supply Chain and Procurement to achieve South African development goals. Kamogelo will, in his capacity bring a wealth of experience and expertise to SAPICS.




Gary Benatar

SAPICS Director

Gary is a founding partner and CEO of Relog – a retail and logistics consulting firm specializing in developing competitive distribution strategies, Infrastructure and operations.  Prior to Relog, Gary was the managing director and founder of Industrial Logistic Systems (ILS),  Gary’s expertise and passion lies in the retail supply chain and logistics sector. He has been influential to every major retailer in South Africa. He is considered an expert in distribution management systems, retail supply chains and logistics efficiency. A notable influence Gary has had on the local South African landscape is his key role in implementing Centralised Distribution models

MJ Schoemaker (CSCP, CPF) is a supply chain professional with over 30 years of global experience across various pillars of supply chain within a good mix of sectors such as FMCG, High Tech, Consumer goods and Pharma. MJ believes that she will be able to contribute to the Board with her industry knowledge and large network as well as her professionalism and presence across all levels of a company hierarchy and culture.  MJ was a board member for Global FMCG company and has a vast track record of executive supply chain positions including Global Director of PLAN Centre of Excellence. Her understanding of the supply chain career path, and how to navigate it as well as the importance of education would be an invaluable asset to SAPICS. MJ is extremely passionate about supply chain being recognised as a business partner in the industry.

David Hudson has over 30 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Operations and Project Management across various industries, including Explosives; Petrochemical; FMCG; Food and Pharmaceuticals. Dave is an endorsed DDMRP instructor, an accredited APICS trainer and a member of SAPICS.  Dave owns SA Coaching and uses a systemic thinking approach to optimize your value chain. He works at both team and individual levels and has coached and mentored engineers through the practical phases of training. He has worked in various African countries, Ghana, Uganda, Mozambique, Botswana and Swaziland.  Dave is based in Johannesburg Gauteng and has published articles on Systems thinking, Supply Chain and Operations improvements
