SAPICS DIRECTOR NOMINATIONS 2019

dos Santos, Richard

As a director of CLX, Richard has been involved with SAPICS throughout his professional career.  He has participated as a SAPICS Authorised Education Partner as well as an active member of the SAPICS Executive Committee.  He continues to work in a SAPICS Board and Exco chairman capacity to advance the interest and transformation of SAPICS to become a recognised professional body serving the African continent. 

 

Utilising his unique professional skill set and given the strategic undertakings that SAPICS has engaged in, Richard believes he can continue to add value in shaping the final service offering that will define SAPICS as the premier supply chain association on the continent. He has an extensive network of supply chain customers, partners and business associates that he can continue to call on to participate in the collaborative building efforts that will need to be fostered throughout the term one would serve on the board of directors.

Johnston, Michael

Michael has been involved in the Transport, Distribution, Logistics, and Supply Chain Industry in Southern Africa for the past forty plus years and is as passionate about it today as he was when he first became involved in it in the early seventies. As an evolving Industry, he enjoys being involved in Logistics and the Supply Chain at a time when developments are so significant and happening at such a rate.

Michael has been active in many capacities throughout the years from line management, consulting, Industry activist, to teaching. He believes that all have been stimulating and fulfilling in their own way. Michael would like to think that he brings knowledge, experience, enthusiasm, and a learning attitude to all that he interacts with during his travels within the Industry and life in general.

Maelane, Nat

Nat Maelane (FCIPS) is a seasoned supply chain leader with 37 years’ experience in both multisector private industries and diverse SOE’s environments. During his career, he has a developed and implemented supply chain best practices which have contributed to the competitiveness and sustainability of the entities he worked for.

 

He has been very active in professionalization of supply chain practitioners. He was a founding member of the Institute of Purchasing South Africa (IPSA) and subsequent Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPSSA). During his tenure at CIPSSA he was both a Board member and Chairperson of the Education Trust. He contributed to governance, strategic direction and transformation. He is currently EXCO member of Sappi SA, Board member of ECIP SPV1 (Pty) Ltd and PAMDEV NPC. His contribution will be in areas of corporate governance, strategic direction, transformation and continued professionalization of supply chain.

Mampane, Kamogelo

Kamogelo Mampane (MBA, FCIPS) is the Chief Executive of TK Global Experts. His company offers Supply Chain Advisory services to companies, board members and Executive Committees. They also assist companies to implement leading practice supply chain principles, Training and IT Solutions to optimise their Procurement and Supply Chain process by working with OEM‘s to increase transparency and effectiveness in the value chain.

He implemented Supply Chain leading practices in the mining industry, financial services, utilities, operations and logistics. He is a thought leader in Strategic Procurement, Supplier and Enterprise Development, Spend Transformation / Diversity and assists companies to leverage on Supply Chain and Procurement to achieve South African development goals. Kamogelo will, in his capacity bring a wealth of experience and expertise to SAPICS.

Schoemaker, MJ

MJ Schoemaker (CSCP, CPF) is a supply chain professional with over 30 years of global experience across various pillars of supply chain within a good mix of sectors such as FMCG, High Tech, Consumer goods and Pharma. MJ believes that she will be able to contribute to the Board with her industry knowledge and large network as well as her professionalism and presence across all levels of a company hierarchy and culture.

MJ was a board member for Global FMCG company and has a vast track record of executive supply chain positions including Global Director of PLAN Centre of Excellence. Her understanding of the supply chain career path, and how to navigate it as well as the importance of education would be an invaluable asset to SAPICS. MJ is extremely passionate about supply chain being recognised as a business partner in the industry.

Seftel, Colin

Colin Seftel (CPIM-F, CSCP, CLTD, DDPP, CSCA) has been a member of the SAPICS Board for many years and has also served on the APICS Board. He believes his experience and skills will enable him to continue to make a positive contribution to SAPICS with his management skills and experience throughout the supply chain industry. Colin has served on the SAPICS Conference Speaker Selection Committee since 2011 and is also an instructor and tutor with several SAPICS Education Providers.

 

Colin would like to see SAPICS take a more structured approach to developing and managing its strategy and will encourage SAPICS to continually review, innovate and improve the services that SAPICS offers the supply chain profession, throughout sub-Saharan Africa.

Smith, Liezl

Liezl Smith (CPIM, CIRM, CSCP, CPF, ACPF, SCOR-P, CDDP, CLTD, DDPP) has been involved with SAPICS for the last 20 years.  After a term serving on the Council for SAIIE, she is ready to go back to her roots at SAPICS and help develop the Professional Body. She would like to be involved in the CPD side of things, giving members sufficient opportunity to maintain their credentials after getting the designation.

Liezl is a past President, Board Member and Exco member of SAPICS. She has been on the Speaker Selection Committee as well as spoken at various SAPICS events. She is an Authorised Education Partner of SAPICS and has worked with the SAPICS community and other industry bodies for many years and can be of value in terms of strategic direction. Currently, she is a director of a new Not for Profit organisation called Lean Built Environment Afrika, which teaches and promotes the use of Lean principles in the Design and Construction environments. She would like to use this opportunity to help build the Professional Body with her knowledge and network.
