SCM (Supply Chain Management) 101

Introduction

The concept of supply chain management has been around for many years and all of us are part of a supply chain in some way. Think about things you do every day like eat, brush your teeth, and put on clothes. Have you ever thought about where these products like your favourite toothpaste or brand of bread comes from? How did they get to the store where you bought them from? How do you feel when you go to the store to buy your favourite loaf of bread and it is not in stock? All these products have gone through a similar process to reach you, the customer, and for which you are prepared to pay money for.
