CHEP Recognised as a Top Gender Empowered Company in South Africa
Recognition affirms CHEPs ongoing commitment to inclusive culture, leadership, diversity and empowering women in the supply chain sector.
Johannesburg,11 August 2025: CHEP South Africa, part of the Brambles Group and a global leader in supply chain solutions, has been recognised as a Top Gender Empowered Company by Standard Bank Top Women Leaders. This prestigious recognition highlights the company’s continued progress in building an inclusive and equitable workplace where women thrive and lead with purpose.
As part of its broader sustainability and transformation agenda, CHEP has made Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) a strategic business priority. Women now hold 48% of management roles at CHEP South Africa, marking a significant milestone in what has traditionally been a male-dominated industry.
“At CHEP, we know that real innovation, resilience and growth come from diverse perspectives,” said Alisdair Sinclair, Vice President, CHEP Sub-Saharan Africa. “This recognition affirms the strides we’ve taken to advance gender equity across all levels of our business. We are proud of the women leaders at CHEP who are not only driving operational excellence but are also inspiring the next generation of changemakers.”
To accelerate progress, CHEP launched two flagship initiatives: the Women of Impact Employee Resource Group and the Women in Supply Chain programme. These platforms provide mentorship, leadership development and skills-building opportunities designed to uplift and advance women across the organisation.
“Our commitment to gender empowerment is not about ticking boxes, it’s about shifting systems,” added Dr. Wongiwe Ludidi, Senior Manager, Talent, Learning and Culture, CHEP Sub-Saharan Africa. “We are intentional about creating spaces where women can lead boldly and authentically. This recognition is a celebration of our people and the inclusive culture we continue to nurture.”
CHEPs DEI efforts align with the national transformation agenda and are backed by measurable goals, employment equity plans and leadership development pipelines. The company also supports broader socio-economic inclusion through community upliftment projects that offer skills training and employment pathways to underserved groups.
